Product Compatibility: Ink

Selecting Ink:

Using  the right ink is also important in creating beautiful stamped images.  Using the wrong ink could result in stamped lines that smudge, bleed,  and feather. The most popular ink for the use with Copics is Memento ink  my Tsukineko. This ink dries quickly and you do not have to heat set it  so you can start coloring right away. You can use Brilliance Inks but  you will need to heat set the ink prior to coloring.

Since the markers are alcohol based you should NOT use a solvent ink like stazon – Stazon ink will actually ruin the nib of your marker and you will need to replace it.

Other inks that do not work well with Copics are Ranger Adirondack, Stampin’ Up! and Close

to My Heart.

Testing Ink:

Stamp  an image onto the paper and let dry completely. Scribble over the  stamped images’ black line with the colorless blender. Does the stamped  ink bleed or feather? If yes, it’s not a compatible ink. If no, then  it’s a good ink to use with your Copic markers.
